Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Center

Accurate and Safe Endoscopic Examination

Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Center

MizMedi Hospital Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Center is equipped with advanced endoscopy systems, sterilization and disinfection systems, and monitoring equipment for blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation to ensure safe sedated endoscopic procedures.
Linked with PACS and electronic medical record systems, we provide accurate and safe examinations.

Based on this systematic examination environment, we perform a large number of gastroscopy and colonoscopy procedures while accumulating extensive clinical experience.
Polyps discovered during colonoscopy can also be removed on the same day through endoscopic polypectomy, enabling faster diagnosis and greater patient convenience.

Accurate Endoscopic Diagnosis

Gastroscopy and colonoscopy examinations allow accurate diagnosis of various gastrointestinal diseases including gastritis, gastric ulcers, and colon polyps.

Same-Day Polypectomy Available

Polyps discovered during colonoscopy can be removed on the same day through endoscopic polypectomy for faster diagnosis and treatment.

Specialist Follow-Up Care

Based on the endoscopy results, gastrointestinal specialists provide continued treatment and management when necessary.

Strict Endoscope Disinfection Management

We strictly follow the Korean Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy guidelines for endoscope cleaning and disinfection to maintain a safe examination environment.

Endoscope Disinfection Process

Endoscopic equipment is disinfected immediately after each patient examination. Disposable instruments are used for biopsy procedures.

Post-Procedure Instructions

After Polypectomy

  • Please consult your doctor before resuming meals.
  • Please consult your doctor before taking anticoagulants such as aspirin or warfarin.
  • If you experience severe abdominal pain or excessive bleeding after biopsy or polypectomy, please contact the hospital or visit the nearest emergency room.
  • Dizziness or discomfort may occur after the examination, so please be cautious to prevent falls.

After Sedated Endoscopy

  • You may temporarily experience dry mouth, bloating, or blurred vision, but these symptoms usually improve over time.
  • Please rest sufficiently for approximately 6 hours after leaving the recovery room.
  • Please return home with a guardian and avoid driving on the day of the examination.
  • Because dizziness may increase the risk of falls, assistance from a guardian is recommended.

After Gastroscopy

  • Because throat anesthesia may cause choking, please wait about 30 minutes before eating.
  • Sore throat or slight bleeding may occur due to endoscope insertion, but these symptoms usually improve naturally over time.
  • If a biopsy was performed, please eat soft foods and avoid spicy foods and alcohol. Normal meals may resume the following day if there is no bleeding.

After Colonoscopy

  • Unless otherwise instructed, you may start with light meals. (Please avoid greasy, spicy, or irritating foods and alcohol.)
  • Abdominal bloating or pain may occur due to air introduced during the examination, but these symptoms usually improve naturally. Warm compresses may help relieve discomfort if needed.
